A custom cut diamond is included with all of our rings and already factored into our pricing. We are offering custom cut stones in all of our rings so long as we have them in stock.

Custom-cut diamonds cost anywhere from 4–10× more than standard, ready-made diamonds offered off the shelf.

Standard diamonds are cut for speed, yield, and mass availability. They’re designed to hit broad market price points, often sacrificing visual performance and precision in the process.

Custom-cut diamonds, on the other hand, are cut one stone at a time with a singular goal: achieving the most beautiful possible result. This process involves extensive planning, precision cutting, and significantly higher skill in order to optimize light return, facet balance, and overall presence. Our stones are then hand selected and those that do not meet the highest cut criteria are rejected.

Because of this, comparing custom-cut diamonds to standard market pricing is like comparing apples to oranges, they are different cuts, created through a completely different process.

Our founder made the deliberate decision to no longer offer standard-cut diamonds as our focus is on delivering the most exceptional diamond possible.

Most jewelers do not carry custom cuts because they are more expensive and time intensive to create (vs. buying a diamond "off the shelf") and many jewelers operate on a different diamond inventory model of "borrowed virtual inventory" where they may have hundreds of thousands of diamonds listed online that are aggregated from different diamond manufacturers and only purchased by the jeweler once the diamond is purchased by the customer. It is a less risky business model to not own your own diamonds. We operate with our own inventory where we custom cut bespoke diamonds and keep only the top quality diamonds in-house. As a result we have a smaller but very premium inventory of custom stones. We believe that offering the highest quality product is the most important outcome and higher quality is better than simply having more.

Despite having different facet sizes and placements, the two cuts can appear similar due to the creation of virtual facets. Virtual facets are a product of the interaction of the real facets that act like mirrors and make it look like there are more facets on the diamond. Their virtual faceting pattern can make these cuts look very similar, and so we encourage clients not to worry should they not be able to distinguish the difference between the two, as we strongly believe the most important factor when selecting a diamond is its brightness, sparkle and overall performance and appeal.

The Constellation cut is one type of modified brilliant cut; there are a multitude!

Crushed ice is an umbrella term for any faceting pattern that has shorter pavilion facets which creates a "busy" look within the stone. This is product of virtual facets, which are present to some degree in all elongated cuts. So there are many types of crushed ice faceting patterns, Constellation cut is one of them. Astral cut is not a crushed ice cut.

Yes, different faceting patterns exist in every stone shape, they are just more uncommon/harder to find than standard cuts. We now custom cut both our marquise and pears as well since these shapes also have the bow-tie effect when cut in the standard brilliant faceting pattern.
